It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a US sitcom that has been running since 2005 but despite this fact I only found out about it the other day!  It is based around four friends (two of whom are related) but this is no Friends.  They run a mock-Irish bar in Philadelphia which they co-own and spend most of the time drinking and thinking up ways to make the bar a success (which it isn’t).  The episodes usually centre on an unsavory topic including racism, Nazism, child abuse and cancer and that is only the first series!  This is a dark comedy with no laughter track and has hints of Curb Your Enthusiasm which it precedes by about four years although it’s not quite in the same league.  There are currently six seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and if you are running low on comedy box sets its definitely worth investing in for some deviant laughs.
